Carlsen Center Weekly Newsletter

Dear Carlsen Center Community Member,

Hope you had a nice weekend. Did you indulge in comfort food or healthy food? One of the ways we can become more conscious and mindful about our environment is with our food choices. In our Thought for the Week article describes the potential for innovative solutions offered by a circular design for food. We learn about four circular design opportunities for food: Diverse, Lower Impact, Upcycled and Regeneratively Produced. All leading to “a future food system that’s good for people, farmers, nature, and business.” Nature-positive food design can combat climate change. All great reasons to disrupt our food production.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is coming up and we have started scheduling various events in partnership with the Colleges at Sac State, along with our community partners and other educational institutions in the region. One of the events will serve to educate us on the Circular Economy. You’ll see the schedule to date, below.

The Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Sacramento State provides access to innovation and entrepreneurship education, programs and mentorship. By forging alliances with students, faculty, along with public and private organizations, the Center offers practical experience in experimentation and innovation, coupled with networking and collaborative opportunities to support the next generation of impact-driven innovators and entrepreneurs at Sac State and in the regional ecosystem.
